    The University of Iowa women’s tennis team takes on two nationally ranked opponents this weekend. The Hawkeyes travel to South Bend, Ind. to play No. 17 Nortre Dame (8-3) on Friday at 2:30 p.m. (CT), before returning to the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex to face No. 36 DePaul (9-3) on Sunday at 10 a.m. (CT).     Seven University of Iowa men’s swimmers posted U.S. Olympic Trial qualifying times at the Hawkeye/Big Ten Long Course qualifier, which was held Feb. 26 at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Center Pool.
  • M. Gymnastics. No. 12 Hawkeyes to Face No. 6 Minnesota and Brockport
    The No. 12 University of Iowa men’s gymnastics team will compete in a tri-meet against Minnesota and Brockport on Saturday in Minneapolis. The meet will begin at 7 p.m. (CT) inside the Sports Pavilion. The event will be televised on tape delay by BTN on March 10th at 3:30 p.m. (CT).
  • Softball. Hawkeyes Bound for Oklahoma
    The University of Iowa softball team heads to the Sooner State this weekend for four games. The Hawkeyes will play No. 23 Oklahoma State and No. 8/9 Oklahoma twice in three days.

  • Baseball. Iowa Set for Austin Peay Tournament
    Iowa continues action this weekend at the Austin Peay/Riverview Inn Classic in Clarksville, Tenn. The Hawkeyes will face three opponents on the road trip: Akron (Friday, 11 a.m. CT), Austin Peay (Saturday, 2:30 p.m. CT) and Youngstown State (Sunday, 11 a.m. CT). All games will be played at Raymond C. Hand Park on the campus of Austin Peay.
  • Wrestling. BTN Expands Wrestling Championship Coverage
    The Big Ten Network will offer its most extensive Big Ten Wrestling Championships coverage ever, with all four sessions Saturday and Sunday, March 3 and 4, at Purdue University receiving either live television or online coverage.
  • W. Volleyball. Hawkeyes Add to 2012 Recruiting Class
    The University of Iowa volleyball program has added a Minnesota prep athlete to its 2012 recruiting class. Julianne Blomberg will join the Hawkeyes in the fall of 2012.

    The University of Iowa women’s gymnastics team travels to Denton, Texas for a four-team meet hosted by the Texas Woman’s University on March 3. Along with TWU, the GymHawks will compete alongside Brigham Young University and Southeast Missouri State. Action is set to begin at 7 p.m. (CT) inside Kitty Magee Arena.
  • W. Basketball. Putting the Streak in Perspective
    The University of Iowa women’s basketball team’s first trip to Nebraska for a Big Ten Conference game was one to forget. The Hawkeyes fell behind early, fought back late, but ultimately dropped a 60-53 decision and stood at 3-5 in the Big Ten standings. Eight games and 33 days later, the Hawkeyes are the hottest team in the conference.

    Head coach Ron Rainey and the University of Iowa women’s soccer team will play seven matches between March 3 and April 28. The Hawkeyes will host four contests, including a spring version of the Big Ten/Big 12 Challenge.

    The University of Iowa women’s golf set a new school record score for 54-holes Monday at the Westbrook Invitational in Peoria, Ariz. The Hawkeyes finished the event with an 879 (290-294-295, +15), breaking the previous mark of 888 set at the Challenge at Onion Creek on Nov. 2-3, 2009. Iowa finished the Westbrook Spring Invitational tied for fifth out of 12 teams.
  • Track. Nukuri Shines in Puerto Rico
    Former University of Iowa cross country and track and field standout Diane Nukuri competed in the World’s Best 10K in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Feb. 26. Out of 9,287 competitors, Nukuri finished 40th overall and finished 11th among the women with at time of 33:39.
  • Baseball. Kuebel Named Big Ten Co-Freshman of the Week
    University of Iowa pitcher Sasha Kuebel has been named Big Ten co-Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Monday. Kuebel, a left-handed starter, garners his first career weekly honor.

    University of Iowa basketball fans have two unique opportunities to vote for the Roy Devyn Marble and Matt Gatens in different online competitions.
  • Wrestling. Big Ten Announces Preliminary Wrestling Seeds
    University of Iowa junior Matt McDonough has been named the top preliminary seed at 125 pounds for this weekend’s Big Ten Wrestling Championships in West Lafayette, Ind. The preliminary seeds, announced today by Big Ten officials, are determined by a vote of conference head coaches. The official Big Ten tournament brackets will be set Friday afternoon.
  • W. Basketball. Logic Honored by Big Ten For 3rd Straight Week
    University of Iowa guard Samantha Logic has been named co-Big Ten Player and Big Ten Freshman of the Week after her performance in Iowa’s two wins last week. This is the third-straight week Logic has earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors. She has also been named co-Big Ten Player of the Week in two of the last three weeks.
  • M. Tennis. Iowa to Face Pair of Ranked Foes
    The University of Iowa men’s tennis team will compete against in-state rival Drake on Wednesday before beginning Big Ten play against Illinois on Sunday. The Drake match will begin at 6 p.m. (CT) inside the Roger Knapp Tennis Center in Des Moines. The Illinois match will begin at 2 p.m. (CT) at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex.
  • M. Basketball. Matt Gatens tabbed Big Ten co-Player of the Week
    University of Iowa senior Matt Gatens was named Big Ten co-Player of the Week along with Purdue’s Robbie Hummel. The honor is the first of Gatens’ career.

    The University of Iowa women’s basketball team finished the 2011-12 season in a four-way tie for second place and will be the No. 3 seed in next week’s Big Ten Tournament. The Hawkeyes will face the winner of No. 6 seed Nebraska vs. No. 11 seed Northwestern Friday at approximately 1 p.m. (CT) live on BTN.
  • W. Golf. Hawkeyes Fire 2 Sub-300 Rounds
    The University of Iowa women’s golf team fired its best two rounds of the season Sunday at the Westbrook Spring Invitational. The Hawkeyes fired a two-over 290 in the first round, followed by a second round 294 (+6) en route to a 584 (+8). Iowa’s previous low-round was a 297, set on Oct. 31 during the first round of the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational. The Hawkeyes enter Monday’s final round in fifth place. Big Ten foe Illinois (288-282=570, -6) sits atop the leaderboard, followed by Texas Tech (293-279=572, -4) and Washington State (288-291=579, +3). Wisconsin is hosting the 54-hole tournament at the 6,178-yard, par 72 Vistas Course at the Westbrook Village Golf Club.

The game was played at Charles Watson Stadium on the campus of Coastal Carolina University as part of the 13th Annual Caravelle Resort Baseball at the Beach Tournament.
  • Softball. Lyon Shuts Out LIU Brooklyn
    The University of Iowa softball team closed out the Cathedral City Classic with a 7-0 victory over LIU Brooklyn on Sunday morning. The Hawkeyes had nine hits in the game, and junior Chelsea Lyon scattered four hits in the complete game shutout.

    Former University of Iowa defensive lineman Mike Daniels and six other Hawkeyes embark on another journey at the NFL Combine.
  • Softball. Matadors Edge Iowa in 8 Innings
    The University of Iowa softball team dropped its second straight extra-inning game, finishing on the wrong end of a 1-0 decision to Cal State Northridge in eight innings on Saturday at the Cathedral City Classic.
  • M. Gymnastics. Ringleader
    University of Iowa men’s gymnast Anton Gryshayev broke his own school record on rings as No. 12 Iowa fell to top-ranked Oklahoma, 356.250-334.400, Saturday evening in the McCasland Field House. Iowa’s team score was one-tenth away from tying its season high, and the Hawkeyes set two new event season high scores.
  • M. Swimming. Hawkeyes Capture 2nd Big Ten Relay Title
    University of Iowa swimmers Duncan Partridge, Ryan Phelan, Jordan Huff and Paul Gordon captured the Big Ten Title in the 400-free relay at the final day of the 2012 Big Ten Championships. Five Hawkeyes earned first-team All-Big Ten and Iowa finished in fifth place as a team with 395 points. Iowa’s fifth place finish marks the programs highest place finish since 1996 when the team finished fifth under coach Glen Patton.
  • Track. Doris, Sowinski Crowned Big Ten Champions
    The University of Iowa Track and Field teams captured two titles at the Big Ten Indoor Championships Saturday. Senior Troy Doris took the triple jump crown, while senior Erik Sowinski took the 800 meters title. The men’s team racked up 45 points to finish eighth, while the women finished 10th with 21 points.
  • W. Tennis. Hawkeyes Blank Panthers, 7-0
    The University of Iowa women’s tennis team topped Northern Iowa, 7-0, on Saturday at the Hawkeye Tennis and Recreation Complex. The Hawkeyes moved to 4-2 this season, including a 4-0 mark at home. Iowa is 7-0 all-time against the Panthers (6-3).
  • W. Basketball. Iowa Closes Regular Season vs. Michigan
    The University of Iowa women’s basketball team will play its final game of the regular season on Sunday, hosting the Michigan Wolverines on Mediacom Court at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m.
