    No. 5/6 Arizona State got a walk-off three-run home run from Elizabeth Caporuscio in the bottom of the seventh inning to rally for a 5-2 victory over the University of Iowa softball team Saturday night in the Littlewood Classic.
  • Track. Austin Captures Two Titles at Iowa Invitational
    The University of Iowa track and field teams recorded 15 first place finishes at the Iowa Invitational on Friday at the Iowa Recreation Building. Drake, Northern Iowa, Central College, Simpson College, and St. Ambrose competed in the event, but no team scores were kept.
  • W. Gymnastics. GymHawks Down Iowa State, 194.150-192.750
    The University of Iowa women’s gymnastics team won all four events in a 194.150-192.750 victory over Iowa State Friday evening. The No. 24 GymHawks crowned three different individual champions in a decisive win over their instate rivals. Over 1,200 fans showed up to cheer on the GymHawks inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena, site of the 2012 Big Ten Women’s Gymnastics Championships.
  • W. Swimming. Hawkeyes Sketch 3 More School Records
    The University of Iowa women’s swimming and diving team broke school records in the 400-medley relay, 400 IM and 100 back at Friday’s finals session of the 2012 Big Ten Swimming and Diving Championships.
  • Softball. 5-Run 7th Lifts Redbirds Past Iowa
    A five run top of the seventh inning lifted Illinois State to a 7-3 victory over the University of Iowa softball team Friday afternoon in its Littlewood Classic opener.
  • Baseball. Hawkeyes Down Pittsburgh in Season Opener
    The University of Iowa baseball team recorded a season-opening 7-5 victory over Pittsburgh Friday afternoon. The game was played at Al Lang Field and was the first of three Big Ten/Big East Challenge contests to start the season for the Hawkeyes.
  • W. Golf. Hawkeyes Prepare to Open Spring in Texas
    The University of Iowa women’s golf team opens its spring schedule Feb. 19-20 at the Claud Jacobs Challenge presented by SCOR golf. Texas State is hosting the 54-hole tournament at the 5,936 yard, par 70 Victoria Country Club in Victoria, Texas. Play will begin both days at 8:30 a.m. (CT). Live scoring will be available on the women’s golf schedule page at hawkeyesports.com.
  • M. Basketball. Hawkeyes to Host No. 18 Indiana Sunday
    Iowa returns home this weekend for a game against No. 18 Indiana Sunday on Mediacom Court at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:06 p.m. (CT). The game will be televised nationally on BTN.

  • Baseball. Iowa Set to Open Season at Big Ten-Big East Challenge
    Iowa opens the 2012 season this weekend when it travels to Tampa, Fla., to compete in the fourth annual Big Ten/Big East Challenge. The Hawkeyes will face three Big East opponents on the road trip: Pittsburgh (Friday, noon CT), Notre Dame (Saturday, 9 a.m. CT) and West Virginia (Sunday, 8 a.m. CT). The games will all take place in current or former major league spring training venues. The Black and Gold are 3-6 all-time in the tournament.
  • Wrestling. Hawkeyes Take No. 2 Seed to Final Four
    The University of Iowa wrestling team competes in the final four round of the NWCA/Cliff Keen National Dual Tournament on Sunday on the campus of Oklahoma State. The tournament regional begins at 2 p.m. inside Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater, Okla.
