    The University of Iowa track and field teams travel to Fayetteville, Ark., to compete in the Razorback Invitational Friday and Saturday. The event, held at the Randal Tyson Track Center, is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. (CT).Friday morning and continue through Saturday afternoon.
  • W. Basketball. Hawks Optimistic Heading into Harsh Stretch
    It has been said that nothing worthwhile ever comes easy. That goes for women’s basketball victories in the Big Ten Conference.
  • M. Basketball. White Making Freshman Impression
    University of Iowa freshman Aaron White has adapted to college life, on the basketball court, and in the classroom. On the court he has been a key contributor off the bench for head coach Fran McCaffery. Off the court, he now has a semester of college life under his belt, a semester in which he learned a lot, both on and off the court.

    The No. 14 University of Iowa men’s gymnastics team will compete against the University of Illinois-Chicago for the second time this season when they meet on Jan. 28. The match will begin at 5 p.m. (CT) inside the UIC Physical Education Building.

    Larry Wieczorek wants more. Iowa’s director of track and field is in his 25th season as a head coach at the University of Iowa, but he has no need for a silver anniversary watch. Instead, he wants this year’s team to be better than the last — no small feat considering last year’s team won the school’s first Big Ten title since 1967.

    After eight days between games, the Iowa Hawkeyes return to action Thursday night when they host Nebraska. Tip-off is set for 6:02 p.m. from Iowa City. The game will be televised on ESPNU.

    University of Iowa freshman Katie Zordani played in three tournaments in her first collegiate fall. The Lake Forest, Ill., native posted a 5-6 singles record that included a third place finish in the McNabb Singles Flight at the Gopher Invitational (3-1 record). Zordani teamed with three different doubles partners, going 6-5. Hawkeyesports.com caught up with Zordani to ask about her adjustment to college tennis.

    The University of Iowa women’s basketball team led for most of the game Sunday afternoon at 21st-ranked Penn State, but a late second half run by the Lady Lions (15-4, 5-2) doomed the Hawkeyes (11-9, 3-4) as they fell, 68-52, inside the Bryce Jordan Center.
  • Wrestling. Hawkeyes Fall to No. 3 Penn State
    The University of Iowa wrestling team fell to third-ranked Penn State, 22-12, Sunday afternoon inside Rec Hall. The No. 2 Hawkeyes won the first three matches to build a 12-0 advantage, but Penn State won the final seven decisions to rally for its first dual victory over Iowa since 2007.
